Edilberto Mulford —conocido con cariño por muchos como El Mono— tiene 49 años y vive en Barrancabermeja, Colombia. Es papá de tres: dos niños y una bebita de apenas un año que ya sonríe como él. También es hijo, hermano, tío y amigo de toda la vida. Está hecho de alegría, fuerza y generosidad. Siempre ha estado ahí, en los días difíciles, rompiendo silencios incómodos con un chiste, una palabra justa o un abrazo a tiempo.
Hoy enfrenta el momento más duro de su vida: un diagnóstico terminal de melanoma maligno en el tronco que llegó sin aviso y lo sacudió todo. Como producto del cáncer, ahora enfrenta muchas complicaciones médicas que hacen su situación aún más difícil. Su dolor es a menudo insoportable y difícil de manejar, por lo que es fundamental mantenerlo lo más cómodo posible. Su lucha ha sido inmensa, pero los recursos médicos en su ciudad son insuficientes, y los costos de su tratamiento han superado con creces lo que su familia puede asumir.
Por eso nace esta campaña. Porque él merece vivir esta etapa con la misma dignidad y amor que ha entregado toda su vida.

He’s always been the one who gives.
Edilberto Mulford —known affectionately by many as El Mono— is 49 years old and lives in Barrancabermeja, Colombia. He is a father of three: two boys and a baby girl just one year old who already smiles just like him. He is also a son, brother, uncle, and lifelong friend. He is made of joy, strength, and generosity. He’s always been there during tough times, breaking uncomfortable silences with a joke, the right words, or a timely hug.
Today, he faces the hardest moment of his life: a terminal diagnosis of malignant melanoma on his torso that came without warning and shook everything. As a result of the cancer, he now faces many medical complications that make his situation even more challenging. His pain is often unmanageable and unbearable, making it essential to keep him as comfortable as possible. His fight has been immense, but medical resources in his city are insufficient, and the costs of his treatment have far exceeded what his family can bear.
That’s why this campaign was created. Because he deserves to live this stage with the same dignity and love he has given all his life.
