Hi, my name is Gretchen and I am starting this GoFundMe for my brother-in-law, EJ Ronsonette, my sister Alivia, and the boys. Now that we as a family have had time to process everything, we are ready to let everyone know what is going on. On June 27, 2025, EJ went into the hospital for an EGD and was told there was a 90% chance that he had esophageal cancer. On July 2, 2025, he received the final report confirming the diagnosis. After meeting with his care team at MD Anderson, EJ has decided to start with an aggressive treatment. He will undergo 4 rounds of chemo in Houston, then undergo surgery, and hopefully finish up with another 4 rounds of chemo. EJ and his care team at MDA are confident this will take care of the cancer. As a family, we have vowed to stay positive for the boys and are trying to resume life as normally as possible.

As many of you know, EJ is self-employed and may not be able to work though out this process. My sister Alivia will be to taking time off throughout this time to be able to take EJ to his doctor appointments and treatment. Alivia does have some PTO built up, which will help throughout this process, but we all know how fast that can be depleted. I am trying to help my sister and brother-in-law lower the burden of the many expenses that they will endure throughout this time, and I know they will be very grateful.
