Stand by Dylan and His Family
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rebecca Conklin, and I never thought I’d be in a position where I’d have to ask for help. But right now, my family needs support, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart.
My husband, Lewis, and I have three amazing boys—Ayden (17), Eric (12), and our youngest, Dylan (5). Dylan is nonverbal autistic, and since December, he has been struggling with ongoing severe stomach issues, his school even sent him to the Er by ambulance for the bloody stool. For months, doctors thought it was just a stomach bug or constipation, the blood in his stool was constant. We had been to doctor after doctor but nothing was helping, we had no answers for months. Finally, on March 24th, we saw a pediatric specialist who sent us straight to Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital. That’s when we got the news—Dylan has ulcerative colitis.
Right now, he’s in the hospital receiving treatment, and I’m staying with him every step of the way while my husband is at home with our other children ensuring they are taken care of wishing he could be here with our baby. As a mom, there’s no question about where I need to be, but that also means I can’t work. With only my husbands income at this time
we’re struggling to keep up with our bills, and it’s getting harder by the day.
I know times are tough for everyone, and asking for help isn’t easy. But if you’re able to donate—no matter how much—it would mean the world to us. Your kindness would help us stay on top of rent, utilities, and just making sure our boys have what they need while we focus on getting Dylan better.
Even if you can’t donate, sharing our story would mean so much to us. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, for caring, and for keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers.
