Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
It is with heavy hearts that we share that our beloved friend Dorothy has been diagnosed with terminal grade four glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), an aggressive and fast-growing form of brain cancer. Dorothy is undergoing at least one round of chemo and radiation treatment with the possibility of more. Despite the doctors best efforts , this diagnosis means that her time with us is limited. We are doing everything we can to ensure they are comfortable (physically and financially), surrounded by family and friends at this time. As many of you know, Dorothy is one of the most strong , spunky (maybe a little feisty), bold, determined and caring individuals you will ever know who always has cared for others. Dorothy has served as a Corrections Officer with Denton and Cooke counties in Texas for over 15 years and is an Army Veteran. Now, it's our turn to be there for her as she and her sweet family face this incredibly difficult journey.
The road ahead will be full of medical treatments, scans, medication and the costs associated with these are overwhelming. Their sweet daughter Lauren graciously offered to leave her job that she loved to be home to help take care of her mom 24/7 so that Rick can still continue to work. We are asking for your support to help ease the financial burden so that Dorothy, Rick and Lauren can focus on making Dorothy as comfortable as possible right now. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a world of difference in helping to cover medical expenses, treatments, and daily living costs during this challenging time.
We know that Dorothy is not fighting this uncharted territory alone. Your generosity, prayers, and love mean more than words can express. Together, we can help give Dorothy the best chance at living life to the fullest during this time.
Your support, whether through donations or simply sharing this message, will make a world of difference. We are deeply grateful for your kindness and compassion as we navigate this incredibly challenging time together.
With gratitude and hope,
Christina Maynard and Jim Pinzino
