Stand by Derric: Battling Stage 4 Cancer

My name is Justin Larson. I am raising funds to help Derric Hansen (31) and his wife Tara Hansen who reside in Plainview NE to get through this time in their life because Derric has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Derric at first sight is a huge grizzly bear, but once you get to know him, that grizzly bear appearance turns into a snuggly, warm, fuzzy bear who cares about you and is always loving and positive no matter what the situation may be. I met Derric through Tara, and we finally got to meet, and let me tell you, the bond we had from the moment we met will never go away. From fishing, to inside jokes, to our “boo-boo” moments, Derric is one of the best friends anyone could ask for. He is one of the most selfless and inspirational people I have and will ever have the honor of meeting. Derric will have a VERY VERY tough battle ahead and I know this stubborn bastard won’t give up or even budge because we have some fish to catch once he gets ahead of this thing. He undergoes chemo (3-4 very diabolical rounds), and if those rounds don’t work, he will be off to MAYO in Rochester, MN for surgery and or further aggressive treatments. Words can’t be put into this of how heartbreaking it is to be this young and one day it could just be gone. We love you Derric with everything Holly and our family have. Funds will be available to Tara and Derric for medical bills.
