Hi my name is Jasmine and I started this fundraiser for my auntie and her husband. My auntie has trouble asking for help so I’m asking for her. She recently found out that her partner has cancer he has a rare and uncommon form they aren’t going to remove it so far because it’s to close to his brain so hopefully he will be able to do chemo. She has to go to UC Davis Because Derek was air lifted from eureka to there. He clearly has been out of work so that is causing them to be having trouble financially. A little bit about Derek He’s a dad of three He’s a hard worker and a loving father. Unfortunately he found out he had cancer due to what he thought was a sinus infection, but he didn’t go in because he didn’t think anything of it and didn’t want to miss work. Eventually they went in and they did a scan and found out he had cancer that’s attached to his brain and deteriorating his bones. They’ll know more on Tuesday but for now they really need help financially because my aunt’s missing work due to going to see him. Honestly anything is appreciated advise, resources, even if it’s a dollar everything is greatly appreciated. Also if you can share this it would be much appreciated. My aunt is one of the kindest sweetest people I have ever met in my life and they could both just really use the help right now. 

Updated Derek is currently home with his family my auntie has told me “He’s sick I brought him home Sunday. He hasn’t eaten much in three days and he has a really bad headache right now lost about 20 pounds so far we go back down on the 20th for a second round of chemo and on the 13th. We have another appointment with the hospital, but they really haven’t given us much information. They just keep telling us that it’s really rare and aggressive.” They haven’t given him anything for the pain besides telling him to take Tylenol she’s trying to get him transferred somewhere into humbolt because the rides back-and-forth are really hard on him and very expensive. Update Derek went to chemo many times and it worked. It shrunk his tumor, but unfortunately they can’t fully get rid of it. It is attached to a part of his brain still and they can’t do surgery unless they take that part of his brain out which would make him not very functional so they are going to be doing radiation it’s far from a short journey. He still has ways to go. They told him that he’s probably gonna have this cancer for the rest of his life, but what they can do is try to keep it as small as they can and prevent it from growing large he is going to have to be doing radiation for at least a year, but he might periodically have to go back and do chemo
