Stand by Dani in Her Cancer Battle

Donation protected
Hey friends and family. Our hope was that we would not have to make this post. Our goal was to get a surgery knocked out and start the road to recovery. Unfortunately, that plan did not come to fruition. We decided it was time to share our reality with our loved ones.

Dani had been having stomach issues throughout the holiday season of 2024. She tried to remedy them with over the counter medication. Nothing was working. In mid January we decided to get her checked out, prior to her appointment she scanned herself at work and discovered she had fluid buildup in her abdomen. We had tests run and it was discovered she had a rare type of cancer pseudomyxoma peritonei. They believe this originated on an ovary she had removed in March of 2024 but tests have been inconclusive to prove this. We were scheduled to have surgery on March 10th, they had planned to go in and perform a hysterectomy, appendectomy, remove any other tumors present on the stomach or colon as well.

They would also perform a hipec treatment. Unfortunately, when they opened her up to perform this surgery there were too many tumors on her small intestine and it would have been too risky to continue.
The current plan now is to start chemotherapy with 6 rounds of chemo treatment each round lasting 3 weeks. We actually had her first treatment this last Friday. The hope is the chemo with shrink the tumors enough, that they will be able to go back in to perform the procedure that was originally scheduled.

With as rare and dire as this situation is, we have reached out to get second opinions from both MD Anderson Cancer Center and Mayo Clinic. We have appointments scheduled with both places.

We are raising funds to help pay for traveling and medical expenses. We appreciate any donations and support to our situation.

Dani has faced many challenges so far but is determined to fight her way through this. The girls are staying strong and positive for their mother. Please send all the positive energy, and healing vibes our way while we navigate through these tough days.
