My name is Mackenzie, and I am reaching out on behalf of my incredible brother, Brody Smith. Brody’s life took an unexpected turn at the age of 42 when he began experiencing symptoms of both Parkinson’s disease and Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS) in 2021. These progressive neurological conditions have drastically changed his daily life, robbing him of the ability to work and making even the simplest tasks a challenge.

“But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord” Jeremiah 30:17

Brody is not just a loving husband to his amazing wife but also a devoted father of two remarkable children. Despite the challenges he faces each day, he remains a source of unwavering faith, strength, love, and inspiration to his family and everyone who knows him. However, due to the challenges posed by his health, Brody has had to take a leave of absence from work, adding significant financial strain to the emotional and physical toll his family faces.

“Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint; heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony” Psalm 6:2

After many medications, and therapies; medical specialists cannot be definitive in treatment. However, we have discovered a new, innovative treatment: stem-cell therapy. This treatment has shown promising results for patients with neurodegenerative conditions like his. However, this treatment is not covered by insurance and comes with a burdensome steep cost.

“The Lord sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness, you restore him to full health” Psalm 41:3

That’s why I’m reaching out to you today. I’m asking first and foremost for your prayers, and if able, your financial support to raise $40,000 to cover the cost of stem-cell therapy, travel expenses for treatment, and ongoing medical care. Every dollar donated will bring him one step closer to reclaiming some of the quality of life he has lost to these symptoms. – and to be the husband and father his family deserves.

As we navigate this challenging journey, we find strength in scripture: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ” Galatians 6:2
