Brian Malleck was seriously injured while performing work at the BNSF Denver Railyard. Brian is a dedicated SMART-TD Union member and has been with the railroad for over 19 years. Brian is a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is also known to many as a good friend. He always has a smile, laugh, positive attitude and a Mountain Dew in his hand.

Now he and his family need as much support as possible to face the financial hardships ahead. Both SMART-TD Local 202 (Denver, CO) and SMART-TD Local 0626 (McCook, NE) are coming together to ask for any help to get through this extremely difficult time. It is important for everyone to understand that railroad workers are not covered under Workman’s Compensation and instead are covered by the Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA). Therefore any financial help in the interim would be much needed, appreciated and put to good use in helping Brian’s road to recovery.
