Stand by Bill & Diane in Their Hardship

Donation protected
For those who haven’t met Bill and Diane Capretta, they are some of the kindest people you could ever know. Early yesterday morning, their horse barn in Commercial Point, burned to the ground. Seven horses were killed in the fire. We still don’t know the cause. Everyone is heartbroken.

Now, neither of them are in the best health. My dad (78) is a fighter. He served as a Columbus police officer for thirty five years. He’s had two heart ablations, prostate cancer, numerous issues with skin cancer in recent years- and a stroke this past spring. Mom (75) has struggled with scoliosis for the last two decades. Arthritis, to boot. They are tired.

My mom retired from West Central School, just two weeks ago (after twenty years). While they were excited to finally spend more time together and do a little local traveling, their income has significantly diminished with her retirement. They were heavily relying on their horse-boarding business, to make ends meet. Now, they can not.

I’m worried about my parents getting through the next couple of months. I know this is a lot to ask, as nearly everyone is struggling with this economy. But I’m hoping maybe the community can rally together, to give whatever they can to these selfless, wonderful, salt of the Earth people- who have loved living in this beautiful town for nearly 35 years. Absolutely anything helps- even if all you can do is share this post! ♥️ Thank you all.
