Stand by Becca's Family During Recovery

Hi everyone!! I’m Ashley, and I’ve created this account for my best friend—more like sister—Rebecca Powell and her family. Recently, after much consideration and medical advice, Becca has made the courageous decision to undergo a prophylactic double mastectomy in order to reduce her risk of developing breast cancer. This is a preventative step she is taking for her health and her future with her husband and children. And if you know her, you know her family is everything to her!

As you can imagine, this major surgery will require a lengthy recovery period, during which time she will need ample rest and extra care for her girls. We wanted to create this GoFundMe campaign to help cover these expenses so that Becca can focus on healing without the added stress of financial burden. All donations will go directly towards childcare for her four girls during her recovery and towards the necessary supplies to help her through the healing process.

Since finding out she had the BRCA2 gene, Becca has become passionate about spreading awareness and encouraging women to get checked by their physician. Self-checks in the shower, mammograms, and MRIs could save your life. Early detection is key!!
