Hello, I am Deanna. My daughter Ateesha recently graduated on Friday, May 16th, and three hours after walking across the stage and beginning the next chapter, she was in a bad car accident. Our car was totaled and ran off the road by someone in a black sedan that didn't even stop. She was rushed to the hospital with 12 broken ribs, a collapsed chest, a broken spine, a broken lower back, a broken pelvic bone, a fractured kidney, a spliced liver, and a broken shoulder. They immediately took her into emergency surgery and then made an incision in her belly where they put lap pads and a wound vac until they could possibly stop the internal bleeding from her kidney and liver. She had a chest tube installed for the air and blood that was in her chest and had a breathing tube. They have since then given her an epidural to lessen the pain and were able to remove the lap pads because the bleeding has stopped. They have also been able to install a stent in her right kidney, and at this current moment, as I am writing this, she is in surgery getting a metal plate to reinforce her chest and ribs. The doctors say this is going to be a long journey, but she is out of the critical stage but not out of the woods.

Since the car was totaled and the hospital is 45 minutes away, and once out, all of her appointments are also within the hospital, I am having difficulty getting there since we do not have a connecting bus line. So she wants me there, and I unfortunately have to run on other people's time and availability, which I am very grateful for the people who have helped with transportation, but I am trying to raise enough money to possibly get another vehicle that is reliable to get back and forth to her while she is in the SICU and her follow-up appointments since I have not been able to walk far distances because I have had to undergo several surgeries myself for things during these last 3 years, with 2 more surgeries to go, which I have also postponed due to this unforeseen event. I need to be able to get back and forth to her at all times to help her with this traumatic experience and alleviate some of her fears of being alone and also make it to my appointments and take my son back and forth to his job without needing to borrow people's time day in and day out. I'm not really sure how all this works, but if there is an ability and you can find it in your heart to contribute anything, even a quarter, it will definitely assist with moving forward. I know God has her because she is still here, and God has us by not taking her. All the prayers have definitely been working, and someone at the church actually suggested trying the GoFundMe site, which is why I am here, praying to get another vehicle to be where I need to be. I want to thank anyone who does and is able to contribute in any way. I'm not really the type to ask for anything ever, but this is of the utmost importance to her, me, and our family. God bless each and every person who took the time to read this message, and even if it's prayers you have, I appreciate those as well!!!! An occasion that was supposed to be happy quickly turned into the worst occasion. And although the road ahead is difficult, and they say it is going to be very time consuming and costly. I am currently on FMLA for my own medical issues and now having to take the hours I do get to handle all of this. I am ready for the challenge. I appreciate all the Prayers and the love and donations that are being contributed. And she says thank you
