Stand by Andrea During Duane's Heart Struggle
Donation protected
Andrea Crespo's (Baldonado) husband (Duane) of twenty years, was rushed to the emergency room on Saturday 1/4 in a dire situation. He was having severe issues breathing, violent coughing fits (with little breaks in between), swelling, things that just were getting worse - as the months prior to this, his pulmonary doc treated his symptoms as severe asthma, cold or flu, or even as another symptom of his debilitating rheumatoid arthritis (it’s also known to attack the soft tissue and organs).
The ER took him back immediately, and over the next 18 hours they did bloodwork, chest X-rays, cat scans, you name it. They gave him breathing treatments, inhalers, antibiotics. Nothing seemed to help. The resident doctor came to them finally and said the initial xray showed fluid, and the swelling in his extremities pointed to cardiac heart failure.
Since this diagnosis, he has been treated with surgery, fluid drainage and many restless nights for him and his family to get his situation under control. There have been a few set backs that have put Andrea in a situation to make decisions that are hard on any spouse. This led to another 8 days of hospital care and finding out how to get ahead of his heart issues and also a plan towards recovery at home.
I know I don't have to explain to anyone the burden this would put on any family. Andrea is in between work and can not work right now while they figure out home care for Duane's recovery. On top of Duane's care, Andrea also has a young daughter (Austyn) that she needs to care for and nurture through this (who also had a birthday during all this). Duane is obviously not able to work for a while and needs to focus on his recovery, not financial stress. We hope that this bit of financial aid will help their family as they navigate what life looks like going forward during recovery and rehabilitation.
Please consider even a few dollars to help the Crespo family out to get them on the path to recovery.
Much thank you and blessings to you all!
