Stand by Adam: Conquer Myeloma Together
Donation protected

Hello everyone! My name is Adam. I’m 43 years old and live in San Marcos, California, which is in San Diego County. I have been a union ironworker since August of 2015. Before that, I have been a regular plasma donor since the age of 18.
About two years ago, while donating plasma, I was given a result that showed a spike in my gamma protein level. This news sent me on a quest to find out what was going on with my plasma. After about 9 months of tests, specialists, and multiple biopsies and scans, I received a confirmed diagnosis of multiple myeloma in July of 2024. I received an autologous stem cell transplant on May 14th, 2025. I am super fortunate to have learned about my condition so early on in its progress. I have responded well to all of my treatments thus far. No i will be in isolation due to my immunocompromised condition and unable to leave the hospital for several weeks. Upon leaving the hospital I will remain in isolation at home for an undetermined amount of time. Once isolation is finished I will still have a chest catheter for some time which will prevent me from working for and undetermined amount of time.
I just have not been able to work due to the constant appointments and side effects caused by my treatment. And now I am in isolation due to my immunocompromised condition. My regular bills are all falling behind, my medical bills and other debts that are on payment plans are running out of control. Donations will be allocated to my health insurance cost, car payments so when I recover I can go back to work. My union dues so I don’t lose my book number. Also will help me keep my pension honestly on so I can communicate with my family and friends.
