Officer Spencer Lowe dedicated his career as a police officer to protecting and serving his community with integrity, professionalism, and courage. He believed in doing the job the right way—holding the line, even when it wasn’t easy. That commitment is exactly what led to his termination. While on duty, Spencer made an arrest for an OVI involving an individual who turned out to be a deputy chief from a neighboring city. During that arrest, three firearms were found in the individual’s possession/vehicle. However, Spencer later discovered that the felony gun charges tied to that incident had been completely removed from his official police report. Concerned by what he believed to be a serious breach of integrity, Spencer brought this information forward to his attorney and to the mayor. Instead of being supported for doing the right thing, he was terminated—told he had reported the issue “incorrectly” and had not followed the “proper channels.” To the community, this feels like a case of pure retaliation, and members from the community are doing what we can to hold The Mayor and Chief of Police accountable.

Now, Spencer finds himself without a job and responsible for supporting his family. On top of that, he faces the very real and devastating possibility of being “blacklisted,” making it incredibly difficult to continue his career in law enforcement despite his record of service. This fundraiser is about more than financial support—it’s about standing up for accountability, transparency, and those willing to speak out when something isn’t right. Spencer did what many wouldn’t have the courage to do. Now he needs us.
