An Injury To One Is An Injury To All-WGSU Solidarity Support

Fátima Murrieta is an organizing committee member with Writers Guild Staff Union, a chapter of Pacific NorthWest Staff Union. Throughout her career, she has been extraordinarily dedicated to the labor movement. Countless workers have found their voice, faced their fears, and have won better working conditions because of Fátima’s leadership.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our organizing committee and coworkers, we were able to get our employer, The Writers Guild of America West, to agree to card check recognition of our staff union and we are now a union workplace with PNWSU. However, during our organizing drive Fátima was unjustly terminated.

We are hopeful that the WGAW management will immediately reinstate Fátima Murrieta and we're currently working with them to address the instances of supervisors who threatened and questioned staff about their union activity which occurred prior to us going public with our demand for union recognition.
