When I got the call that one of my best and most consistent, long time friends in this life suddenly was diagnosed with advanced Colon Cancer, it sent my heart and mind reeling. So many people rely on Stance Schudy... his amazing kids and business, and closer to home, his friends who he is ALWAYS there for, no matter what. Stance is an amazing human with a kind hearted soul that would give you the shirt off his back. I wanted to set up this Go-fund-me page to help you get to know the man that I know a little better and to humbly ask for help to support him on his incredibly hard journey. A journey that he can't do alone and should not have to...NOBODY SHOULD...
Please read a few words about his story, and who he is from his daughter below and if you find this touched your heart in even in some small way, then please donate. 100% of the money goes to Stance's treatment and living conditions and expenses, as he fights in the battle for his very life and that of the quality of his children's lives. Basic things like shelter, food, and electricity, become monumental challenges when you have to focus your efforts on chemo and battling cancer. THEY need your help. Please keep reading.

April was a life changing month, one minute everything was fine, and the next, I found out one of the strongest people in my life had cancer...my father! Hearing the words "I have cancer" come out of my dad's mouth will forever be etched in my memory...It's so hard to ever forget words like that no matter how much you want to.
Watching him go through all of the different stages of this disease, so far, has been an emotional roller coaster for him and our family.
Colon Cancer is horrible. Watching him struggle to learn a new way of life, taking care of an ileostomy bag, not being able to use his core abdominal muscles to move at all, putting on a brave face and then still finding confidence to feel comfortable in public settings again, opened my eyes to the hardships of what he's going through, and my heart breaks.
Now, starting chemo and many other possible experiential treatments is going to be a whole new challenge. The stress of staying strong and positive through chemo is going to be hard enough, and the prospects of different "experimental treatments" will be VERY, VERY expensive - but come with a higher promise of effectiveness. As a man that has always been able to help and take care of his friends and family, you can imagine the difficulty in asking for financial help - so we are doing it for him. There's times in life when everyone needs help. Any amount that you can contribute is extremely appreciated. I know I'll be forever grateful as well as my dad and our family. Thank you so much.

For those that don’t already know, Stance had emergency cancer surgery requiring the removal of his entire Colon in April of 2017. In spite of our best hopes, the pathology report has revealed the cancer to be late stage 3-c , metastatic carcinoma - present in multiple lymph nodes.
Stance will be undergoing advanced Chemotherapy for at least the next 7 months to fight the progression of the cancer.
We are attempting to enlist the UCSF Colon Cancer Research Center as a possible treatment resource. There are also several treatment option possibilities that would require funding outside Stance's Medical Insurance that we are hoping to utilize to improve the chances of remission.
Most of you reading this know of Stance as a very encouraging, generous, kind, funny and thoughtful person. He has been an inspiration to us all throughout this life changing experience with his positive and optimistic attitude.
Please contribute whatever you can, as any amount is impactful and greatly appreciated
We appreciate each and every one of you that have taken the time to physically help and emotionally support Stance in his time of need.
THANK YOU in advance for your thoughtfulness, support and continued prayers.
