Cover & Stalls for Rescue Horse Dumbledore & More

Hi. My husband Dan and I are currently fostering a horse named Phoenix (we call him Dumbledore - if you know you know) from Fresno Humane Animal Services (FHAS) in Fresno County. We have advised FHAS that we intend to keep Phoenix as he is older and has medical needs that require daily care. While we have fostered dogs and have certainly adopted dogs and horses, this was our first true foster experience for a severely neglected/abused horse. We can emphatically say it has been one of the most rewarding endeavors of our lives. We made this commitment and we have now decided we are ready to make the longer term commitment to foster large livestock/horses in the years to come and be there for animals in need. With the rising cost of feed/hay, we believe many more large animals may be "dumped" as Phoenix was.  We have spent considerable sums of our own money on feed, veterinary care and medicine, and upgrades to our little ranch but really need some help with one last fixture. We have been apprehensive to reach out for help but we are in need of a carport/cover so we can build a good stall type structure for Phoenix and future fosters so we can safely separate those that are too weak to join existing animals or have to be kept separate for special feed and care. The carport cover is needed to ensure that Phoenix and others have a warm/cool, dry, comfortable place to be for some the first time in their lives. Our goal is to make each animal in our care receive the best food, medical help and know true love for their remaining years.
