Stairway to heaven walk in memory of John

Hey all, hoping all that knew and loved John will take the time to read

So last year, John and I spoke and planned on doing the stairway to heaven in Fermanagh, this June.

Life unfortunately, throws these rotten curve balls at us and he won’t get to do it, so I’ve decided to go on ahead and do it myself and I’ll take him with me in my heart

It’s 7.5 miles all in and all uphill, 2,182ft at the top to be precise

Now whilst this probably would have been wee buns to Mr Motivator-Callaghan, it most definitely isn’t to me, so much so he said when we were going to do it, he was bringing a long tail shovel to bury me half way up because all id do is gurn the whole way and back, his exact words were “after we do it Nicole, i’ll be renaming it “Stairway to Hell”, as that’s where I’ll feel I’ve went, after listening to you gurning in my ba*tard ear the whole time”

With the blessing of johns mum, I thought I’d use the opportunity of my little “adventure” to raise money for a charity very close to John and his families heart, The Haemophilia Society.

I’ve attached it to this and any donations go directly to the charity, as and when you donate, no money crosses my hands.

It would be great to see so, in his memory, even the small price of a bottle of his favourite bud, you’d buy him, if you met him when out.

Even if you can’t donate, just sharing this post would reach it out there, in the hope of donations somewhere along the line.

The plan is to set off early on Saturday 21st June with my sister, brother, couple of other family members and johns mum has said his brothers may also be up for it. If anyone else would like to join us, you are more than welcome to get in touch and come for the craic, all I ask is you wear your favourite sunglasses, just as John loved his, same pair he’s had for 4,213 years and leave the long tail shovels at home he’d planned to bring, to dispose of me lol.
