GET JEFF A STAIR LIFT!
Donation protected
I'm sure most of the people of Brooks know Jeff by sight if not by name, He has been the Oasis Theater for many years. But not all of you will know of the struggle he has been living with for over 7 years now. Back in 2010 Jeff was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and had his first surgery. He recovered quite well from that and continued on with his life for the next 2 years. When again he was told the tumor had grown and would need surgery again. He was given a total run of 2 full months of radiation 3-5 days per week. This was listed as preventative and not as treating cancer. He has also been on an oral dose of Chemo to keep the tumor from growing for the last 2 years.
In May of 2016 Jeff was given the news that his tumor was growing and it was confirmed that it was cancerous, inoperable and terminal. He was give 6-8 months to live. He continues to take an oral chemo and steroid to assist with his daily living,.. but as the day progress things and getting hard for him to manage. One of the largest obstacles for him is the stairs... his balance is compromised and it is becoming harder and harder for him to get up and down them, He and his partner live in a 2 story duplex and their bedroom is upstairs.
We have looked into funding to see if there was any funding to cover a lift for him but sadly there is not. So I have decided to do what I can to see if we can make this a possiblility for him. Having this lift installed for him would give him back a little of his independance for a time , which is very important to him.
All funds doncated will go to Jeff and making his life as comfortable as possible. Please find it in you heart to assist us in this goal..... Thank you....Angie
