Stair Climbing Wheel Chair & Med Expenses

Starting in December I began to have a pain in my back.  Over the next couple of months it got worse.  I kept going back to the ER at least once a week but they kept saying it was just normal back pain in which they would just give me pain meds and muscle relaxers.  Till the start of February, that is when they finally saw something in an MRI and my blood work.

That is when they found Burkitt's  Lymphoma and put me in the hospital.  The first few days in the hospital I began to lose feeling in my legs and the ability to move them.  A doctor came in the morning on my third day there to tell me that I was paralyzed and that there was nothing he could do to help.  After arguing with him, he said there might a slim chance to regain the feeling and control of my legs with spinal surgery to remove the tumor that was compressing my spinal cord.  So I went ahead with the surgery.  I have been able to get back a lot of the feeling but do not have control of my legs.

After months of chemo treatments, I am in remission and want to go home as soon as I can.  The problem is, in order to get into my home, I have to go up stairs.  I rent so can not do major changes but we have found a wheelchair that is capable of climbing stairs.  I will have to pay out of pocket for this chair as they are covering the power wheelchair and they cover only one chair. Plus other expenses due to the cancer.

We are asking for your help, if you are able to.  Thank you for taking the time to read this.
