Hello and welcome!

Stagnant is a Junior Thesis Film that will be shot by Wright State University Film students. This story will take place over one night on a camping trip between a brother and sister.

The Story:

Madeline and her brother Garrett embark on a peaceful camping trip deep in the wilderness, but their escape into nature quickly turns into a nightmare. As Garrett struggles with a mysterious illness, their tranquil retreat is disrupted by strange events, including a terrifying encounter with a monstrous creature lurking in the woods. After Garrett disappears, Madeline finds herself alone and desperate. With help from a concerned Park Ranger, Madeline uncovers a horrifying truth.

This short will explore the abrupt changes that a cancer diagnoses brings. It may steal time, but it cannot steal joy, if you don’t allow it. Coming to terms with what’s currently available, and the “stagnant” feeling of waiting for the inevitable, puts the fragility of life into perspective. That sometimes, we can’t protect our loved ones from what’s happening within.

The Budget:

Where will your donations go to?

Budgeting for the film has come down to Camera Equipment rental costs, Grip/Gaff equipment rental costs, food, production design which entails Props, costumes, set décor. Post-Production needs, and locations.

Stagnant is to be shot summer of 2025 and will premiere the next year. Thank you for your time and consideration towards the project.
