Stage IV Haptic Endometriosis Excision Surgery

Hi,

My name is Taylor and I'm launching this fundraiser to help cover the costs for my Stage IV Haptic Endometriosis Surgery. If you know me, you know that i'm never one to ask for help with ANYTHING let alone ask for help fiancially. I'm asking for help now as my quality of life continues to deteriorate and hiding it behind a smile just isn't working anymore.

Background:

I have had two previous surgeries- one being a botched ablative surgery in 2018 and the other being excision with a DaVinci machine in 2022 (now contraindicated for this procedure but is still considered the standard for treatment). I was blessed enough to find Dr. Kanayama based out of New York who is a renowned surgeon offering fully haptic excision. He is one of only a handful in country offering this! With years of experience in medical and surgical gynecology and over 7,000+ successful treated cases, Dr. Kanayama uses this method which allows for more accurate and effective treatment resulting in a staggeringly low reoccurrence rate 5 years post surgery even for late stage patients. It is considered the ultimate gold standard of care.

Cost:

After discussing with the hospital and my insurance (with being out of network), my out of pocket costs will total $28,000 for the facility, believe it or not that's a 46% discount from what they normally bill. This number does not include my surgeon's costs or anesthesia, both of which are billed separately. I know what you may be thinking- "why doesn't she find a surgeon in state for this?". If that was an option we would go that route! There isn't a single surgeon in the state of Arizona offering a fully haptic endo excision surgery at this time. Not to mention, my last surgery which was quoted at $10k, ended up costing us close to $23k out of pocket as unfortunately, Arizona is #1 in the country for medical billing fraud according to insurance agents and lawyers we have met with. We will also have to take off work, rent a car and stay in New York for a week during recovery before being cleared to fly home. We are hoping to find a relatively inexpensive airbnb on a first level for the week as i will be unable to walk without assistance. I am hoping to see Dr. Kanayama this summer for surgery as that is my slow season for work. As you can see, this is no small cost—and any donation will help tremendously!

About Me:

I am 23 years old and own my own small business. I bought my first home at 20 by myself and sold at 22 years old to help grow my business. I now own The Beauty Joint in Gilbert, AZ where I offer booth rentals to other small business owners to help grow their business in a growth mindset based environment while allowing them the freedom of running their own businesses. I'm all about lifting women up and helping to creating a better world. I launched 'Project Confidence' through my business where I personally offer 5+ clients free self-harm scar cover ups with beautiful fine line designs as well as offer free 3D Areola Restorative Tattooing for Breast Cancer Survivors. I also have my work (tattooing and permanent makeup), and caring for my three dogs (one of whom we are training to be a service dog to alert me to my pain flares as my pain receptors no longer communicate my pain- resulting in me overexerting myself and increasing the duration of my pain flares). I have an amazing and beyond supportive boyfriend, Devon who helps me immensely physically when i'm experiencing flares and unable to do much myself as well as emotionally when my chronic pain and all that comes with it is too much to bare. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with such an amazing and supportive man when that time comes for us. I'm a very hardworking and motivated individual that just needs some help to make this happen. This surgery would be life-changing and also give us a higher chance of being able to have our own kids when that time does come for us; my biggest goal in life has always been to become a mother. The idea of living life on a daily basis with reduced to no pain and minimized side effects almost seems unimaginable. After being medically lied to, not believed and taken advantage of, I am so blessed to have met Dr. Kanayama.
