THIS IS THE ONLY GOFUNDME THAT IS LEGIT. DO NOT DONATE TO ANY OTHER GOFUNDME THAT HAS TO DEAL WITH MY MOM. ONLY HER CHILDREN WILL BE OPERATING THIS- THIS IS ORGANIZED BY KEVIN AND BECKY LINTON.
Please, pray for my Mom and my family as we proceed with care for my Mom. Pray for peace and pray that we all seek the Lord throughout this process. I have faith, but this hurts so continue to pray, please. The Lord knows our pain and weakness and He is understanding and loving.
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” Psalm 73:26
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10)
My Mom has been diagnosed with Stage 4b uterine cancer that has metastasized to her lungs.
Chemo is being administered starting Thursday, January 31st. Because Mom has two types of cancer, treatment is going to be tough on her. She currently has multiple bumps all over her body and is struggling with bleeding in the inside. The doctor stated that one of her cancers was curable while the other is not. Mom is really strong and is holding on to hope that the Lord is control. Mom has more testing to undergo and we will find out more once results come in.
This sickness has hit the family extremely hard. One day my I called home to check on my parents and my father informed me that my mom was sick. As soon as I spoke to my mother, I knew immediately that something was wrong. Mom went to the doctor the very same day and within two days, she was rushed to the hospital because she was unable to breathe and she was suffering from internal bleeding. 20 minutes before Mom was rushed to the hospital, I was on the phone with her checking on how she was doing. 20 minutes later, I received a call that dropped me to my knees. Within hours, my mother had to be given blood. She has since had a total of four blood transfusions. She stayed in the hospital for a week as they were monitoring her. The goal is that the bleeding will stop once Chemo begins.
I am not a person to ask for help, but we are in need of help right now. My mother has devoted her life taking care of people and serving others. Throughout my life growing up, my mom has opened her doors to people who were homeless especially if they had kids. Mom never let anyone go hungry. Mom is known for giving what she has even if it meant that she would go without. My mother taught us to help those in need because that was our duty. As I watch Mom now in her frail stage, my heart hurts with a pain that is indescribable. I want to scream and yell and let out my frustration and pain as I face the reality of our lives now. I say, “No. Lord. Please, not my Mom.” I cry as I look at her. It is hard. It is terrible. It is a nightmare.
However, through the pain and suffering she is enduring, she is encouraging us to Trust the Lord for she knows that He is in control. Mom’s spirit is not broken. She tries so hard to be around all of us, but she does get tired very quickly. Mom’s spirit of giving, even as she is suffering, continues to shine. Everyday my sister comes home from work, my mother ask her about feeding the homeless. Mom ensures that the homeless are being fed and that others in need are getting the help that they need and my sister makes it a priority to bring food to Mom’s homeless friends before she comes home to sit with my Mom. To highlight her heart, the day we took Mom home from the hospital, she had my father slow down on the side of the road to give money to a man that was in need. She is in need right now, but she told the Guam Cancer Care agency to help the others that are in need first because she can wait to be last. Her heart and compassion for others is like no other. That is the type of person my mother is.
I am asking for help because we need funds for palliative care, treatment, medication and travel expenses as I go back and forth from the US to Guam to help take care of her. These funds will pay for medical expenses, provide comfort, help prevent secondary infections during Chemo, and allow me to go back home to help care for her. Mom not only needs medical expenses paid for, but she also needs an area to live in that is safe for her once she goes through Chemo because her system will be compromised. We want to avoid any possible infections that can happen. Funds are needed as soon as possible. Please, help however you see fit. Thank you all from all of us!
