Stage 4 Kidney Disease, Dementia, and Housing for Dad.

Hi! My name is Lily, and I'm raising money for my dad's medical care, which has been steadily inclining with need over the past year and a half. As all of the financial responsibility rests on me, I've made the tough decision to take to Gofundme for a little bit of help. I'm not sure what the future holds, but I do know that with the proper, persistent care, I might have a few more (if not a decade) longer with my favorite telephone voicemail leaver in the world.
Me and he!
I appreciate any monetary help and support in any way. I am fortunate enough to have some of the best friends a gal could ask for going through the illness and loss of a parent, an amazing life partner, and many wonderful years with my dad. I am so grateful for each and every one of you and whatever type of support you have the bandwidth for right now.
I've been singing a lot of Elvis Presley lately in honor of my dad. He's been on my mind. Back when I was 10 and we went on this wacky, cross-Canadian-country camping trip from Lake Michigan all the way to the tip of Newfoundland, we found ourselves on this ferry (dressed as a cruise ship!) since the commute was so long. On one of the lower floors, I was introduced to something you all might know by the name of "karaoke." I think I begged my dad to sing, and he chuckled up an eye-roll but, giggly, I pulled him to the songbook. Starry-eyed, I watched my dad walk to the middle of the room where the mic was set and sang THE BEST rendition of Blue Suede Shoes I've ever heard--Presley vibrato and all. That core memory has lived with me for 20 years and it probably rides along in my pocket every time I scourge the desolate landscape for the nearest karaoke night.
Edit** I’ll update everyone in the update section of the GoFundMe, but it’s been dormant for the last two years since our initial health scare. I’ve managed to keep this kidney stable, and we excised the matasticized melanoma tumor on his chest, removed a centenal lymphnode, did immonutherapy for the next 6 months, and the cancer is in remission. I have no idea when it will return, but we’re alright for now. His dementia grows slowly worse with each month that passes, and ever since our consistent hospital stays and rehabilitation at a local nursing home, he has a forever catheter and foley bag in order to drain his bladder which can no longer drain by itself. I’m lucky that he is still alive, but his living conditions grow worse. The subsidized senior housing facility he’s living in was recently bought by some large company who have failed to assist with basic housing needs. Maintenance goes unfixed, pests thrive, and rent has been increase by 50%. It is now my mission to move him into a modest home where I can better care for him while he grows out of his autonomy, and he is safe. Please help by donating toward this cause. We have about 10k between the two of us saved for a down payment for a house, but need to double that to have any chance of securing safe housing. Thank you SO very much in advance.
Note: Any money not utilized in the event of a Failure to Thrive will be returned to the donor, or donated to another GoFundMe of the donor's choice.
