St.4 cancer fighter needs help now!

Hi. I’m Marie. I’m turning 39 in august, and have a son that’s 4 in just 1 month. I live with my boyfriend and his beautiful 10 year old son.

In October 2020 I got the horrible message that my stomach pains were cancer. My son had just turned 1, and I just couldn’t believe it.

I was rushed to the hospital because the doctors were afraid my colon would rupture. Luckily it didn’t, but they saw the cancer had spread. It was in my ovaries, my liver, lymph nodes, colon……. It was everywhere.

The first operation was to remove the main tumor, my ovaries and uterus and the lymph nodes that were infected. After the surgery I started chemo to try and remove, or at least shrink, the tumors in my liver. They were inoperable. Turned out the chemo didn’t work. I asked for a second opinion, and luckily a liver surgeon saw my case and decided to operate on me. One week before my surgery, the most catastrophic happened. My boyfriends 10 year old daughter was killed in a car crash. The whole family was devastated. I didn’t want to have the operation, I wanted to stay home and take care of everything. But my boyfriend said the only thing that could help him in that moment was to go and have the surgery. With a broken heart I left my family to fly to the other side of the country to get the surgery.

They successfully removed about 25% of my liver, and I thought that was it. I was healthy. I had follow up appointments every 3rd month, and in December 2021 the cancer had returned. This time I was sent across the country again to get a CRS-HIPEC surgery. This is a HUGE operation that took 8-9 hours. I woke up with a bladder that no longer worked and a permanent colostomy.

The doctors were positive, and in January 2023 I celebrated one year cancer free!

And then… in may 2023, the call came. The cancer was back, again. This time the only thing they could offer was radiation and chemo as palliative treatment. I can not accept this. So, I looked to other countries for help. This will cost me a lot of money. The last three years have been hell for me and my family, and the costs have been astronomical. Even here in Norway, where healthcare is free.

I’m now desperately trying to raise money for medical treatment in another country. I’m in touch with several clinics, and is waiting for responses from a few of them.

If I raise any money, they will be used to travel to clinics and the medical treatment they can offer as soon as possible.

As a mom to a beautiful boy, a boy that I’ve longed for my whole life, the idea that I’ll die and not be here for him is unbearable. My heart is breaking, and our little fragile family can not handle another death.
