Dear friends: I am saddened and embarassed to confess that I have to ask for your help.

As many of you know, I am struggling with some difficult physical and mental health issues. My Social Security coverage began August 1st. Although approved for full disability (about $2000), which would have more than covered my expenses, I only received $500.

Moreover, the retroactive payment was not backdated to October 1, 2015 (application date), but instead to June 1, 2016. So instead of a check for $6,000+, I will receive nothing, because the 2 months of retro payment was given to the City of San Francisco for repayment of their General Assistance (my only income for the last 10 months).

I exhausted all of my financial resources by September 2015, including the charitible organizations that help people facing eviction, because they assisted me last year.

As I figure out how to reconcile my financial situation, I urgently need help paying my August rent and PG&E. My landlord of 19 years is itching to evict me for persistent late payment of rent (over the last 18 months). I have absolutely no financial resources left, and have $3.00 left on my foodstamps allowance.

I would be deeply grateful for a donation of any size - it will help me keep a roof over my head, the lights on and put food on the table. Though I was hoping to live off of disablity insurance for a while, I do believe I can stabilize my financial situation within the next month or two. Until then, any help you can offer would make an enormous difference in my life.
