Stacy recently found out she has cancer. After undergoing major surgery and her first three rounds of chemo, it was apparent that her type of cancer was not a good responder to the conventional treatment plan. It has now been recommended that she do a two week, intensive, immune boosting therapy to radically boost her immune system before the next three rounds of chemo. This alternative treatment will help her to not only survive, but to thrive.
The two-week program, as well as many of her other hospital bills are not covered by her insurance plan. She is currently undergoing radiation treatment five days a week. The two hour drive from their remote home in Idaho to the treatment center, coupled with the intensive post care needs has become her and her husband's full time job, forcing them to choose between Stacy's survival and working to meet basic needs.
Stacy surrounds herself with the healing arts. She teaches yoga, writes poetry, and is also a family advocate for Head Start. In the past she has used art projects as therapy to help kids and families become closer. She is a wild, creative spirit and guides people to find more ease and comfort with mind/body connection. Her presence is powerful and absolutely beautiful. She builds community through passion and full of heart. She has touched many lives and will continue to do so.
As a mother of two boys ages 10 and 12, and a daughter age 15, she is deeply grateful for any amount given to help her family. She needs to begin the the program by July 20th in order to complete the treatment before the next round of chemo.
