My name is Stacy Taylor. My story took a hard right turn 3 years ago when I was diagnosed with stage 3c2 cervical cancer. After surviving 6 rounds of chemotherapy and 57 rounds of radiation, I was told I was NED. That was the good news. Bad news, my PET scan showed that I have Sarcoidosis in my lungs and lymph nodes. Over the past 2 and a half years I have been fighting to overcome this disease which has no known cause. No known cure. It's been a long, painful, exhausting journey. With 10 doctors (at least) working together to try and treat my condition which has turned up in my heart, skin, joints, and nervous system, we have gotten nowhere.

Just a quick description of what Sarcoidosis is...Sarcoidosis is an auto-inflamitory disease where granulomas form in any organ in the body attacking anything it deems a threat. It cannot be cured (YET!) however it can go into remission. These granulomas leave scar tissue which often cause complications.

I have finally gotten an appointment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota on May 30th. They have a Sarcoidosis clinic dedicated to treating people like me. I had lost all hope. I am so tired. I could not see going on fighting. The life I am living, is not living. I can barely even do basic tasts. When I got this appointment I finally felt some hope creep back in.

But I need help. I cannot do this alone. It will be expensive. It will take time and money. I will have to stay in Rochester while receiving treatment. I am still awaiting my court date for my disability hearing. It's been 2 years since I first allied. Meanwhile I have had to rely on my parents, family and friends. This has been a very humbling experience. I am so grateful. I am truly blessed to have so many people willing to step up and take care of me.

Please know that my only goal is to get better. I will do anything to that end.
