Hi, I am starting this GoFundMe page on behalf of not only my friend Stacie Youger but also my best friend and the one I have called my sister for 25 years.
10 years ago, I received the devastating news she was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma cancer. Not only was it the fact she was diagnosed with such a devastating disease but she had become an excited mom just 6 months before being diagnosed. Though scared of the not knowing the future I knew she was a fighter and she proved me right. Nothing stopped her throughout her year of chemo. She became a single great mom, she still worked full time and she still had such laughter and positivity that it was infectious and inspiring while going through the unimaginable. She refused to skip a beat no matter how hard it was on her physically and mentally. The only thing that pulled her through mentally was her daughter, her faith, her laughter, her family and friends and she beat it.
Thank you God she has been cancer free but the chemo treatment and it’s side effects have taken a serious toll on her teeth these past 9 years and it’s reached the point of needing surgery and removing them all and placing implants. The once beautiful smile and laughter she always had is now constant infections, constant breakage, pain to eat, malnutrition due to not being able to eat, constant headaches, depression and anxiety. I cannot let this happen after everything she has been through! I cannot even imagine being 43, a single mom and someone that has always laughed, smiled, and craved doing so in life to feeling the depression she will go through of not feeling confident to do so.
As a big brother, this is where I must step in no matter if she is too proud, ashamed and not willing to ask for help. As of now, her health is taking another hit from severe infections and not getting the nutrition she needs because it is too painful to eat. I am starting a page because after everything she has been through, after all she is to everyone she meets from that annoyingly infectious laugh she deserves a break. She deserves that smile and laugh the rest of her life.
God willing I am hoping to raise enough to pay for her entire surgery, which is about 50K, but every little bit counts. Please help me keep a smile on her face.
