Stacie's Medical Marathon

Donation protected
Dear friends,

Life is unpredictable and New Years Day was one that was startling. On that morning Stacie suffered an  injury to her head at home and was rushed to St. Vincent's ER in Billings.  The head injury quickly turned out to be a ruptured brain aneurysm on the right side of her brain.  Before we knew it Stacie was being life flighted to Denver.  One of her boys was able to be by her side on the flight, as the rest of the family quickly made calls, booked flights, and jumped in the car to be by Stacie’s side.

Once Stacie arrived in Denver she was immediately rushed into surgery at the Swedish Medical Center.   They were able to block off the ruptured aneurysm by going through an artery in her leg and putting a drain in her brain to release pressure and to drain the unwanted blood surrounding her brain.  There were several surgeries that happened over the course of the next 16 days in the ICU to help stabilize her condition.

With uncertainty casting over the family of what the healing would look like, Stacie slowly started regaining consciousness, ability to talk, and some basic motor functions.  By the end of her 22 days at SMC she was able to sit in a chair to eat and begin to walk with assistance from the nurses.  On January 23rd she was able to be moved across the street to Craig Hospital into their rehabilitation unit.  She is expected to stay at Craig for the next 45 to 60 days depending on progress made.

Throughout this process the amazing doctors and nurses have continued to tell us this is not a sprint to the finish line but a marathon.  If you would like to assist in Stacie’s Marathon with her financial burden, any donation through GoFundMe would be greatly appreciated.  All funds raised will go directly to Stacie’s medical costs and living support during her rehabilitation.

On behalf of Dakota, Hunter, Cole, Stephanie, Kathy, Doyle & families, we appreciate the outpouring love, prayers, and support coming from MT, WA, OR, AZ, and TX over the last month and undoubtedly, in the months to come.
