This go fund me account is for my sister Staci & her son Ryan!
As many of you know Ryan is an amazing kid, he is so outgoing, loves school, & is always wanting to help others!
During the summer, Ryan experienced a few medical concerns & was admitted to Mary bridge hospital for several days, but was released since there was some improvement.
He proceeded to have weekly blood work done & check-ins with the doctor to make sure he was improving since there was nothing diagnosed at that time.
12 weeks later he had blood work done & his liver numbers came back extremely high again!
4 days later was admitted again to Mary bridge hospital on October 10th to undergo more testing since he was extremely jaundice & had lots of bruising.
He had a liver biopsy, a bone marrow biopsy, ultrasounds, lots of blood work, & began getting regular blood transfusions since his platelets were extremely low!
In order to get answers he was transferred up to Seattle children’s hospital to undergo more testing!
Ryan stayed there for several weeks until getting a confirmed diagnosis & and a better understanding how they should treat him.
Ryan was diagnosed with aplastic anemia & autoimmune hepatitis along with some concerning liver numbers.
This is a very rare blood disorder, & can be difficult to treat.
He is currently undergoing a form of treatment & will have to stay up in Seattle at the Ronald McDonald housing for several months or possibly longer. This will depend upon if the treatment works & if his body is able to keep his platelets stable.
As you can imagine this is a lot to understand & can be very overwhelming.
My sister is only able to work every other week since she has to stay up in Seattle with Ryan. She is a single mom, who works very hard, but her job does not offer any medical leave.
If you can, please donate to help relieve some of her financial stress as she continues to take care of her son.
There is no guarantee the treatment will work, so she will be continuing to take care of Ryan until the doctors begin to see if treatment is working.
We do appreciate all your support & prayers,
The Krist Family
