Stacey's Transplant Journey

Donation protected
Family and friends of Stacey Ortego Richard (wife of Ronald Richard, mother of Megan Richard Comeaux and Amber Richard) are raising money to help with cost of travel, hotel stays, and expenses related to pre- and post-kidney transplant.

Stacey was born with Polycystic Kidney Disease, which is an inherited, incurable kidney disorder that causes cyst to take over normal kidney cells and decline kidney function until dialysis or a kidney transplant is needed. Stacey’s kidney function had been rapidly declining over the last five years. She received the gift of life on January 18, 2016 at Ochsner’s Hospital in New Orleans; A kidney donated by dear friend Nicole Norris Deaville.

Two weeks after transplant, Stacey’s body begin to reject the new kidney.  She had to stay in the hospital for an additional three weeks and had many tiring treatments to stop the rejection. Ronald missed over a month of work to be by her side. She will continue to travel to Ochsner’s at least two times a week for a year to be closely monitored for any other signs of rejection.

Any donation you are able to offer will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again from all of our hearts,

Family and Friends of Stacey Richard.
