My twin sister was in a car accident in 1985. She is brain injured and has many struggles. She moved in to housing for seniors and disabled in 1990. They have no money to update things for her due to funding issues.
Then in June of this year she was hit by a car again. She had 18 broken bones and has been on the mend slowly since this happened. She broke 4 ribs so badly they had to do surgery to put a plate in and to take out the fluid off her lungs. She also broke her clavical and her pelvis.
The biggest hurdle we have is her bathroom. It is not designed for a disabled person with her needs. She has a bathtub, which is difficult for her to step into to shower. The shower chair barely fits. I fear for her every time she gets in and out of it. If I raise enough money that is the first thing I need to change. I would love to make her bathroom nicer in every way, but the tub situation is the primary issue.
