Stacey's Double Lung Transplant

On the day Stacey gave birth to their Navey girl, she and Casey received the devastating diagnosis of her

lung disease - Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.

This disease means the blood vessels in Stacey’s lungs are constricted and don’t allow blood to

flow freely through them as they should. The Disease causes the pressure in the lung arteries to rise, forcing

the heart to work harder and eventually causing it to weaken and fail.

Stace's medication for the last five years has helped with these issues.

We hoped this sometimes miserable medication would extend her life for decades. However, it has stopped working.

The only way to extend Stacey’s life now is through the miracle of Organ Donation. She will need a

double lung transplant. The transplant requires Casey to care for Stacey 24 hours a day for months after

surgery. Although Casey and Stacey had been aware for the last five years that this was a possibility, we all hoped this

surgery was decades away. They have done their best to save money and budget PTO, but the reality is that months without an income and medical expenses will be overwhelming for them.
