Stacey's Cancer Journey: Getting Through Surgery & Recovery

On August 11th, I went in for what was supposed to be an outpatient surgery. Instead, after 8 long hours in the operating room and some unexpected complications, I woke up to the news that I’d be staying in the hospital — and I’ve now been here for 2 days.

The pain in my arm is intense, and the swelling and tingling in my hand where lymph nodes were removed makes even simple movements difficult. This recovery is going to be harder than I imagined, and right now every bit of strength I have is going toward healing.

I’m sharing this because your support — whether it’s through donations, shares, or prayers — truly makes a difference. These hospital stays, unexpected complications, and extended recovery time all mean more medical bills and more time I can’t work.

Hi, I’m Stacey — and asking for help like this isn’t easy for me. But right now, I’m facing a chapter I can’t get through alone.

This journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve spent so many days sick in bed after chemo; completely drained, barely able to move, but I rarely let anyone see that part. I always tried to stay positive, put on a smile, and cover it in glitter so no one saw how hard it really was.

What you didn’t see were the midnight ER visits, the times I drove myself to the hospital alone, or the moments I missed out on life with my family because I just couldn’t get out of bed. I’ve fought quietly, privately… and now I’m facing my biggest battle yet.

My first surgery is scheduled for August 11th, and I’ll need at least 3, possibly 4, depending on how everything goes. Each one means more time in recovery, more time off work, and more uncertainty ahead.
