Cancer has struck yet again and taken its toll on another person in our lives that we love. With your help Stacey Mcclanahan can beat this disease that doesn't discriminate. She will need all the support we can give her. If we all pitch in just a little we can help Stacey win this long battle against breast cancer that she is facing.
Stacey is my best friend of more than 30 years and although I live in AZ and she lives in OR we have stayed close and maintained our friendship. Stacey is the most amazing kindest person you will ever meet with a heart of gold. She is the mother of two amazing boys and a grandmother to the cute little guy in the picture. She works three jobs to get by and unfortunately during her fight against breast cancer she will have several weeks off with no income including her most rewarding job of being a caretaker to the elderly. She absolutely loves it. Lets help Stacey get through this and beat Cancer.
Stacey did everything right. She had her mammograms' done yearly but this year was different, it came back with her worst fears. She was supposed to have a simple biopsy but in the process the doctor nicked a blood vessel which caused internal bleeding, with the staff on top of her literally holding her chest down to prevent further bleeding, and Stacey not knowing what was happening in that moment had to be scary in its own only to find out in the end that the biopsy confirmed it. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in both breasts. The doctor is going to do a double mastectomy followed by reconstructive surgery.
For those of you not aware, Stacey is facing a very long, painful, and exhausting road ahead of her. She will undergo the initial procedure where the doctor will remove both of her breasts, then she will need to heal fully followed by a six month period of having that newly healed skin slowly re-stretched (which is painful) back out so that the next step of the reconstructive surgery can be done. The problem she is facing is when a biopsy is done, a chunk is taken from the area which opens it up and gives the cancer more of a chance to spread. She needs this surgery done ASAP so that the cancer doesn't get that chance.
Stacey does not have insurance to cover this. The hospital will pay 60% of the initial procedure but none toward the reconstructive surgery. The doctor will not start the surgery until she has the funds to pay for it so time is of great importance in this case. She CAN Hope, She CAN Fight, and She CAN WIN this battle. Please donate. Anything will help and is greatly appreciated.
It's not pink. It's not pretty. Cancer sucks!
