For many of you who may not have heard, our sister Stacey Sommer Keeney was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in her right breast early January 2020. This comes as a huge surprise to her and her entire family. She has been to numerous doctor's appointments these past couple weeks. Every time she goes, the news just seems to get worse in her eyes. As of today (1/20/2020), her appointment with the Oncologist confirmed she will need to go through 20 weeks of extensive Chemo before they can perform a mastectomy on her right breast. (This was recommended by her surgeon). The purpose of the chemo is to try and shrink the mass before the breast is removed, in hopes of getting all the tumor. After surgery, she will need more chemo and possibly radiation.
Stacey was told today that her being able to work, is out of the question. She is not and will not be able to work. She can not risk illnesses or infections. As of now, the only income Stacey and Guy have coming in is unemployment. Guy was recently laid off from Corning Inc. and is actively trying to find a new job to support Stacey and their two children.
My hopes as her sister, and hopes from her family is that you could find the kindness in your hearts to donate to an amazing person. And if a donation is not possible, a kind word or prayer would be greatly appreciated.
Please feel free to share also.
Thanks.
