Stacey fighting cancer
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,
We’re reaching out with heartbreaking news about Stacey. This past Monday, she was diagnosed with rectal cancer, and by Wednesday, she underwent emergency surgery for an ostomy bag. In addition, the tumour has attached itself to the wall of the cervix, necessitating further surgery in Toronto as soon as she has recovered from her colostomy procedure.
Stacey has been an invaluable part of Child Care Algoma for 18 years, working tirelessly in an essential administrative role. Her dedication behind the scenes has ensured the daycare runs smoothly, making a significant impact on the staff, the families and more importantly the children.
Following her recovery from the upcoming surgery in Toronto, Stacey will need to have a PET scan to assess the full extent of her condition and determine the next steps in her treatment.
As a single-income earner, Stacey is facing a substantial reduction in her wages to just 55% during her treatment, adding considerable financial stress to an already challenging situation. We’re asking for your support to help Stacey manage her medical expenses and daily living costs during this difficult time.
Your donations will allow her to focus on her health and recovery without the added burden of financial worries.
Please consider donating to our GoFundMe campaign to support Stacey. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will make a significant difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign within your network would also be immensely helpful.
Stacey has always been the first to offer help to others in need. Now, it’s our turn to support her. We deeply appreciate your generosity and kindness as we come together to assist Stacey during this difficult time.
With heartfelt gratitude,
MaryKaye Karhi and Mitzi Chambers
