In January of this year, my life changed drastically when I became homeless. As a single mother of three children, I was already navigating significant challenges with very little support. Despite doing everything in my power to remain stable, a combination of job loss, limited income, and the rising cost of living made it impossible to maintain housing.
Rather than allowing my circumstances to define my future, I made the decision to invest in myself and my children by pursuing education and certification. Within the same year, while managing homelessness and parenting three children with little to no assistance, I successfully earned both my Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certifications. This was not an easy journey. It required discipline, sacrifice, and determination during a time when stability was uncertain. However, I remained focused on creating a better and more secure future for my family.
Throughout this period, I actively sought employment, but inconsistent work opportunities and financial instability made it difficult to regain housing. Despite my efforts, the lack of steady income and reliable support systems kept me in a cycle of instability. Still, I continued applying for positions aligned with my certifications, determined to move forward.
Recently, I received a job offer in another state, an opportunity that represents hope, stability, and long-term security for my children and me. I accepted the position immediately, understanding that it would allow me to provide consistent income and build a stable foundation for my family. My start date is January 13, 2026.
Due to the rapid timeline of this transition, I am currently seeking financial assistance to secure housing prior to my start date. I am prepared and willing to work, but without immediate housing support, it will be extremely difficult to begin employment and maintain consistency for my children. Assistance with initial housing costs such as a security deposit, first month’s rent, or temporary lodging would allow me to transition into employment successfully and avoid prolonged homelessness.
This request is not made lightly. I have demonstrated my commitment to self-sufficiency through education, perseverance, and determination under extremely difficult circumstances. With short-term housing assistance, I will be able to stabilize my family, begin work, and continue building a sustainable future for my children.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my situation and for any support you may be able to provide during this critical transition.
