A long-awaited dream is becoming reality at Saint Thomas the Apostle—a playground for the “big kids.” Designed by Exerplay for our 5-12 year old students, the new playground will feature equipment that gives our kids a chance to climb, balance, hang, swing and spin at recess. The “continuous play” concept keeps kids active from one end to the other, challenging them to take on the gauntlet and “not touch the ground!” The new structure will be installed in the grass area between the school office wing and 2nd-3rd grade classroom wing.
Playground equipment and construction costs total $150K which is our fundraising goal. MANY THANKS to an anonymous donor for kicking us off with a $50K donation! This donation, combined with other parish and school resources have helped us raise roughly $100K to date. WE ARE SO CLOSE (just $50K left to raise) and now it’s ALL HANDS ON DECK! If every STA school family donated $50 (the approximate cost of a square foot of the project), we could raise over $17,000!
