Caroline's Trip to India
Donation protected
The issue of human trafficking has been on my heart for a number of years now. And while I'm thrilled to see all the awareness currently being spread about the issue I feel the need to act and to learn more about this cause that has become a passion. The ministry of Rahab's Rope works with victims of human trafficking to rehabilitate their lives and restore their hope. I'm so excited to have the opportunity to travel to India to work in an aftercare home for women who have been rescued from this former slavery. I'll primarily be teaching the women vocational skills, lending an ear to hear their stories, tutoring children, volunteering in an AIDS hospice, praying A LOT. I will be in India for about a month and would appreciate any support you are willing to give. In this season of gofundme accounts I hope you would consider supporting me with prayer and/or a financial gift if you feel so called. This total cost will cover flight expenses, food, and essential funds needed for the ministry.
As one way of saying thank you, for all donations at or over $150 I will write you a special "moment" that I'm experiencing during my time in India. This moment will be unique and only shared between you and I. This moment could come in the form of a story, a picture of what I'm looking at, or just a thought evoked by something I'm experiencing. Thank you so much for your consideration to financially support me and for your prayers. In India's culture, trafficked women are seen as the least of these. My hope is to walk along side them in all their shame that they feel and simply love on them. They have been stripped of their identity and are not seen as whole beings. But our God knows each and every one of them and He calls them beloved. Again, thank you for taking the time even to read this far.
Is. 61:1-4 "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion - to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations."
