St. Tudor's Church urgent need for CCTV
St. Tudor’s Church sits atop Mynyddislwyn and has served the community for more than 1000 years. It is the oldest building in North Gwent still in regular use and is Grade II* listed. It also attracts attention from further afield, with film crews requesting permission to film both inside and out.
The lychgate, with its tiled roof and stone benches is a prominent feature, also serving as a welcome sheltered resting place for weary walkers and cyclists enjoying the fresh hilltop air.
Sadly, more recently, the lychgate has been the target for vandalism. Added to this, the church’s boundary walls are constantly being damaged by HGVs trying to use the narrow country lanes as a shortcut.
We are therefore asking for your help to pay for the installation of a good quality CCTV system in order to protect and preserve this ancient place of worship, which serves many people in so many ways. Thank you.
