St Tolas NS Multiple Disability Sensory Room

Hello Everyone; this fundraising page has been set up by the teachers and staff of St. Tolas NS, Shannon, Co Clare. In 2021 we opened our Multiple Disability class to cater for children with multiple disabilities.

We are one of two schools in Ireland that has a multiple disability class attached to our mainstream school, and this allows the children to be integrated for part of the day into a mainstream classroom.

We have set up this fundraiser to help create a sensory room for our multiple disability class. The children in 'Aoibhneas' exhibit a broad and diverse range of characteristics. A sensory room can help them improve their visual, auditory and tactile processing and fine and gross motor skills. It's an area that provides a sense of calm and comfort. A sensory room will also be a fantastic addition to the school for the pupils in our ASD class and any children in our school who may need a quiet space during the day.

All the children in St Tolas will complete a ‘Witches Walk’ this October to help raise funds for this project. We ask you to please give what you can to support/sponsor our pupils in reaching our target.
