St Thomas' Neo-Natal Unit & Ronald Mcdonald House Charity
Donation protected
Hey everyone! We are trying to raise funds for the Neonatal unit at Guys & St Thomas' hospital AND the Ronald Mcdonald House Charity.
Our Son Aiden was transferred from Epsom Hospital to the NICU in Guys and St Thomas' hospital, on barely his first day of life as he was very unwell and needed intensive care to save his life. After a week of investigations, the incredible nurses and doctors discovered that Aiden had a stroke shortly after birth and that had caused many of his worrying symptoms. He spent 11 days in the NICU and SCBU whilst the doctors and nurses looked after him and tried to find the cause of his symptoms/the stroke. We felt confident in the abilities of the doctors and nurses and we knew that Aiden was in the best hands. I was also being looked after in the post-natal ward whilst Aiden was in the neonatal ward opposite me. I wasn't discharged until days before Aiden was, which meant I could be close to him at all times.
We were also given the chance to stay in local accommodation which was provided free to us by the RMHC. This meant that we could have our eldest daughter, Elira, with us whilst still being very close to Aiden.
The amenities and support this charity offers is life changing for many families. The charity solely relies on donations and needs as much support/help they can get.
Aiden's family will be forever indebted to all of those who supported us during his recovery. There is a chance he would not be here today if he did not receive the medical care that he did and we will remember every single person involved in his/our care. We would also like to thank the team at Epsom hospital for doing all they could whilst Aiden was in their care.
ANY donation is appreciated. No matter how little, it will make a difference. The neonatal unit appreciates donations like crocheted/knitted hats/blankets of different sizes. The housing charity will accept absolutely anything. Businesses that can provide services/products/food should get in touch with the charity.
You do not have to donate to my fundraiser and hospital of choice because I'm sure your local hospital would greatly appreciate anything you can offer.
I will be splitting the funds 50/50 between the neo-natal unit and RMHC
