St Peter's Boiler & Building Break-in Help

Recently, St. Peter's incurred thousands of dollars of expenses to repair our boiler in the middle of the cold winter season.  As we were raising funds to repair the boiler, we experienced our 6th break-in two years (including twice the first week of March 2022).  Recently, our pastor's office window was kicked in and the building was vandalized twice in one week.  We have now installed cameras and an updated security system- a huge unexpected expense.  There are also several other boarded windows that we are raising funds to secure with glass blocks.   Furthermore, a recent attempted break-in damaged one our exterior doors creating another expense.   

St. Peter's United Church of Christ has served Cincinnati's Pleasant Ridge neighborhood at our current site since it was organized in 1876. The church was built as a spiritual community for German immigrants and moved into our current building in 1922. For 100 years our building has been a hub for the community. In the past year alone, we have hosted piano recitals, Pinewood Derby for a chapter of the Boy Scouts, a SURJ (Standing Up for Racial Justice) film viewing, community discussions on race, and social justice, LGBTQIA issues, creative arts workshops, and the like. We even host music lessons daily (Monday-Friday) in the sanctuary. St. Peter's is a proud community partner and it is our prayer that we continue to serve as a resource for the neighborhood as we find new and creative opportunities to use our space in non-traditional "church" ways.
