St Patricks GAA Club are looking to raise money for The Azheimer Society of Ireland Wicklow Branch
1000km in 2 WEEKS - Walk/Run/Cycle
Monday April 20th - Monday May 4th
Living with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia can be a challenging journey for everyone involved. Dementia is the name for a range of conditions that cause damage to the brain. This damage can affect memory, thinking, language and the ability to carry out everyday tasks. There are many conditions which cause dementia. Alzheimer’s is the most common cause. Each person’s experience with dementia is unique to them. Dementia may last many years, sometimes progressing faster, sometimes more slowly. This means that it is not possible for anyone to tell you exactly how the condition will progress and how long a person can live with dementia.
The Azheimer Society of Ireland Wicklow Branch run daycentres, family/carer support groups, social clubs, family carer training courses, schools and community education talks and telephone family emergency support within Wicklow.
Due to the current lockdown, like many other charities, The Azheimer Society of Ireland Wicklow Branch are missing out on much needed funds. Dementia is a condition that has affected families within our club and that is why we would like to help. By raising as much money as possible we hope to assist The Azheimer Society of Ireland Wicklow Branch in providing care and support for families around the town.
Please support our lads and contribute what few euro you can. Every little helps! Fundraising initiatives have been hampered by the Covid-19 pandemic and support is needed now, more than ever!
