*** THIS IS A SECRET! Please don't tell Amy, Elena, Betty, or Tom ***
On Wednesday July 31, 2013 Mike left us in body, but his spirit lives on. I can't believe it's been almost five years. Mike has joined the saints in heaven--playing his accordion and pissing off the long-time residents, no doubt. As you well know, there will never be another Mike Vosburg-Casey--father, husband, son, brother, social justice lover, San Francisco Giants fan, chicken farmer, rabble-rouser, marcher, visitor with prisoners, whole hog cooker, federal pen starting shortstop, and so much more.
For the 5th anniversary of Mike's death, we are commissioning activist-artist Mary Button to create two icons in Mike's honor so we can revere him with all the company of saints. Mary will create one icon for Amy & Elena and one for Tom & Betty, so each can have one in their home in Redwood City.
We are raising money to pay for the commissions and shipping. Any funds left over will go to the Open Door Community in Baltimore, MD.
Mary will also have prints of the two icons available for purchase separately. You can see Mary's work here: http://marybutton.com/portfolio/icons_illuminations/. Once the prints are available, we'll put the link up here and send it around.
