LAST & FINAL FUNDRAISER FOR OUR NEW SCHOOL 3G PITCH
We are thrilled to share that work on our brand-new 3G pitch has already begun. This exciting project will provide our pupils with a top-quality sports and play facility — but because it CANNOT funded by the Department of Education, we are relying entirely on the strength and generosity of our school community to bring it to completion.
We are embarking on an ambitious plan to install a state-of-the-art 3G all weather pitch. This will mean the children will be able to play all year round on a safe and clean surface and will provide even more opportunities for every child — helping them stay active, build confidence, develop teamwork skills, and enjoy sport in a safe and modern environment.
We are now beginning one FINAL and LAST stage of fundraising.
We are incredibly proud that everything achieved so far has been funded by our own efforts. With one last push, we can ensure this fantastic facility is fully completed and ready for the children to enjoy for many years to come.
OUR FINAL FUNDRAISING EVENT
On Friday 24th April, our entire school community will take part in a Sponsored 500km Run along the Coalisland Canal towpath.
Leading the challenge is our very own Mr. Lyons, who will run an amazing 50km, while pupils and staff will work together to complete the remaining distance and reach our 500km target.
Every single contribution — big or small — will bring us one step closer to finishing this incredible project.
Thank you, as always, for your kindness, generosity, and unwavering support.
Together, we can create a facility that will benefit all the children of Kingsisland for many years to come.
A MESSAGE FROM THE 50KM MAN HIMSELF - 'MR WILLIE LYONS'
"As part of the school fundraising drive for our new 3G, on Friday April 24th I will run 50km to supplement our whole school target of 500km. I am excited about the challenge ahead.
The impact of physical exercise, unstructured and structured play and active habits on children’s physical, mental and social well-being are well documented, and the provision of a new 3G will only further enhance these key foundations for all the children in Kingsisland Primary School. This is an investment in their futures and the futures of those who will attend Kingsisland Primary School for years to come. The positive impact this will have on our wider school community is immeasurable.
Developing active habits, staying fit and healthy, creating social and friendship bonds are components that lead to a happy childhood. Indeed, these are key elements why I run, hike and walk. Instilling these fundamentals, and more importantly, having a safe purpose-built outdoor space to ensure the children at Kingsisland can proactively create life long lifestyle behaviours, exercise and have fun with their friends is paramount for their futures.
Your support and sponsorship is greatly appreciated by each and every child in Kingsisland Primary School, and your contribution will benefit present and future generations of children in our community."
