Totus Tuus Room - St. John Paul II Library
Donation protected
As part of our Center for Leadership senior capstone project at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, we are raising money to renovate and beautify the study room on the ground floor at the back of the St. John Paul II Library. The newly-decorated room will be re-named the 'Totus Tuus Room' in honor of Our Blessed Mother.
We have realized a lack of beautiful rooms on our otherwise beautiful campus, and wish to take a tangible, permanent step towards resolving this problem. The presence of a more beautiful rooms will, we believe, be instrumental in augmenting the academic culture on campus. We have investigated several potential rooms and spaces around campus and selected a group study room in the library as being ideal for renovation. Our overall goal is to renovate the floor, walls, ceiling, furniture, and miscellaneous elements of the room to create a more beautiful space. The renovated room will be available for individual or group study, small undergraduate or graduate seminar classes, meetings, or any similar purpose.
Breakdown of costs:
- Walls: Wood paneling $1,800 and paint: $200
- Floors: Hardwood flooring: $1,250
- Shelving: Laminate wood: $1,500
- Ceiling: Faux wood tiles: $1,250 (Chandelier is an option to explore,
pending expert opinion, but not vital for the project).
- Furniture: $1500
- Labor: $1000
- Miscellaneous: $1,500
